Versatic™ Monomers for Decorative and Topcoats

Hexion offers a range of monomers and building blocks that provide performance advantages when formulated into cement and masonry coatings for flooring, walls, etc.

Our VeoVa™ vinyl esters can be incorporated into emulsion polymers for masonry coatings to provide a variety of enhanced features, including:

  • Excellent alkali resistance
  • Excellent efflorescence resistance
  • Low moisture absorption
  • Improved dirt pick-up resistance for masonry walls

Our Cardura™ E10P glycidyl ester can be used to formulate low-VOC acrylic polyol resins that are:

  • Easy and fast to produce
  • Compatible with non-polar, low-cost, low-odor solvents such as odorless mineral spirits
  • Ideal for 2K polyurethane concrete topcoats, especially those which will be used in areas where strong solvent odors are a concern
