Butanediol (BDO)

1, 4 Butanediol, or BDO, is used to manufacture various acetylenic chemicals used in everything from apparel to electronics to lube oils to hairsprays. Hexion serves a base of BDO producers who synthesize our formaldehyde with acetylene in their production process to form 1,4 Butanediol as a building block for Tetrahydrofuran (THF), gamma-Butyrolactone, Polybutylene Terephthalate resins and in polyurethanes.
